👥Group Chats: Multiple Peeps

Add several Peeps to one chat — turn-taking, mentions, mute, and group images.

A chat doesn't have to be one-on-one. You can invite more than one Peep into the same conversation and let them talk to you — and to each other. A group chat behaves exactly like a normal 1-to-1 chat until you add a second Peep, so everything you already know still applies.

Adding & removing Peeps

Open the Chat Profile (tap a Peep's avatar) and use the teal Invite a Peep button to bring another character into the chat. Each participant appears with their own avatar, and each avatar has two controls:

  • Remove (top-right) — takes that Peep out of the chat. Their past messages stay in the history with their name, so the conversation still reads correctly.
  • Mute (top-left) — see below.

When a Peep joins, everyone in the chat is told "X joined the conversation", so the newcomer is greeted naturally.

Who replies, and taking turns

You don't have to pick who answers — AI Peeps handles the turn-taking for you. After you send a message, one Peep takes the floor and replies; sometimes another Peep will naturally jump in after them, and then the floor comes back to you. Replies lean slightly toward whoever spoke last, so conversations stay coherent instead of everyone talking over each other.

Mentioning a Peep

Want a specific Peep to answer? There are two ways to call on someone, and they work differently:

  • By name (soft mention). Write their nickname, full name, or just their first name anywhere in the message. For example, "So Misty, what do you think?" gives the first reply to Misty, but the others can still jump in afterwards. This works even mid-action, so *looks at Misty* what now? still points at Misty.
  • With @ (exclusive mention). Put an at-sign before the name, like @Misty, and only Misty replies. No other Peep takes a turn. Use it when you want one Peep, and only that Peep, to answer.

In a group chat, typing @ opens a little list of the Peeps in the chat. Keep typing to filter it, then pick someone with the arrow keys and Enter (or Tab), or just tap a name. The mention is inserted for you, so it always lands on the right Peep.

Muting a Peep

Tap the mute control on a Peep's avatar to bench them. A muted Peep stays in the chat and keeps all their history, but won't take any turns — they're skipped when picking who replies, including mentions. Tap again to bring them back in. Handy when you want the spotlight on one character for a while without removing anyone.

Each Peep is still their own character

Group chats don't blur your Peeps together:

  • Separate memories. Every Peep keeps its own memories of you, written from its own point of view — so what one Peep learns about you isn't automatically known by the others.
  • Their own colour. Each Peep's messages get a distinct colour so you can follow who's speaking at a glance. Prefer plain bubbles? You can turn colours off in Settings.

Group images

You can generate an image straight from a group chat, but there's one thing to know: only the Forge engine can put multiple Peeps' faces into one picture. If you start an image from a group chat with Prism or Anime selected, you'll get a heads-up, because those engines render a single character. See Image Engines for the full comparison.

How many can I have?

Group chats have their own per-plan limits, separate from your regular chat slots:
